We provided final year Illustration students with a brief based around the theme of print as powerful as your imagination. The collaboration is about creativity and imagination.
Print is very personal and we wanted to capture the impression it makes on people.
The students submitted 30 illustrations and our marketing manager Cat and designer Ben went down to Falmouth to choose the final 12 illustrations and give feedback to the students.
We were really impressed with the standard of the entries, and some of the students took the brief we gave them to another level.
The calendar features the work of: Leah Smart, Kate Hickey, Solene Chaudois, Emma Bramman, Lucy Tomlison, Jia-yi Liu, Emily Judge, Frederique Van ‘Riek Puik’, Josephine Wise, Oliver Averill, Kim Meech and Clara Anganuzzi.
Keryn Bibby, Level 3 Co-ordinator on the BA (Hons) Illustration course at Falmouth University, said:
“The collaboration gave our final year students the opportunity to work in a professional capacity, gain industry feedback and national exposure. A valued experience and innovative concept, which has proved to be a great success.”
We printed 2,000 calendars to deliver to our clients across the UK. We’ve posted around 1,600 and our sales team will hand deliver the last 400 throughout January.
Working with Falmouth University and the students from the conception phase through to print has been a rewarding process. We are over the moon with the results and delighted to be able to bring the students’ illustrations to life in print.
