SAPC commit to recycling 100% of foil waste

Foiling and Recyclability
As the UK’s most environmentally-friendly printing company, we’re pleased to announce we have committed to recycling 100% of our foil waste.

As the UK’s most environmentally-friendly printing company, we’re always looking for ways to ensure we’re as sustainable as we can be. That’s why we’re pleased to announce we have committed to recycling 100% of our foil waste through the “Zero Foil 2 Landfill” scheme.

In 2018 we created our own in-house Specialist Finishing Department, which enables us to offer a wide range of foiling, die cutting, spot uv and embossing and debossing options.

Even though all our specialist finishing processes ensure print remains fully-recyclable, it’s very hard to find waste companies who will recycle bulky foil waste generated during the manufacturing process. This means that thousands of tonnes of foil waste are unnecessarily landfilled across the UK each year.

The scheme, which is facilitated by Prismm Environmental turns 100% of our foil waste into solid recovered fuel – which means it is shredded and used as an alternative to fossil fuels. It has a variety of uses, particularly in heating cement kilns.

This strengthens our ongoing commitment to the environment and ensuring any waste is disposed of in the most sustainable way possible. We already recycle 100% of our paper waste, as well as all our plates and inks, so to join “Zero Foil 2 Landfill” is a natural progression.
